Jay McArthur is currently in his 7th year as Director of Bands for the Ridgeland Attendance Zone. Previously, he spent 13 years as Director of Bands in the Quitman School System, and Junior High School Director in Kosciusko. A 1985 graduate of the University of Mississippi, McArthur earned his Masters Degree from Southern Oregon University in 2001. His bands consistently earn superior ratings in concert, sight reading, and marching. An active clinician, consultant, percussion arranger, and drill designer, McArthur is also in demand nationally as an adjudicator including work for Winter Guard International’s percussion division. He has been recognized with awards including multiple listings in Who’s Who in American Teachers, Star Teacher, and Outstanding Young Director for the Southern Region as recognized by the National Federation. Mr. McArthur is a member of Phi Beta Mu and has served as a member of the executive board of the East Mississippi Band Directors Association and the Mississippi Bandmasters Association. Mr. McArthur was recently elected Phi Beta Mu Director of the year and has also been elected to serve a second term on the executive board of the Mississippi Bandmaster's Association.
Keith Moffat is currently in his thirteenth year with the Ridgeland band program. He currently serves as the Olde Towne Middle School band director and as an assistant band director for Ridgeland High School. Previously, he was the Middle School band director and assistant High School Director for schools in Oxford, Vicksburg/Warren, and Starkville School Districts. He is a 1985 graduate (B.M.) from the University of Mississippi. His middle school bands have consistently earned superior ratings in both concert and sight reading. He was nominated into the “Outstanding Young Men Of America” in 1987 and listed in "Who's Who in American Teachers" in 2005. He is currently a member of Phi Beta Mu, the Mississippi Bandmasters Association, the East Central Mississippi Band Directors Association (where he served on the executive board), the Capital District Band Directors Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the National Bandmasters Association.
Mr. Moffat continues to be in demand as a Clinician and Adjudicator for both concert and marching bands throughout Mississippi. Mr. Moffat currently resides in Ridgeland, MS with his wife, Sherrel Ann, and his three daughters (Emily, Cassie, and Mary).
The Olde Towne Middle School Bands have been consistent in superior ratings in both concert and sight reading since the school opened its doors in 1996 under the direction of Mr. Moffat.
Mr. Milner is currently in his 8th year at Olde Towne Middle School. He teaches 6th grade trumpets, 6th grade flutes, and 7th grade band. He also assists with the high school marching, symphonic, and concert bands. Mr. Milner holds a Bachelors degree in instrumental music education from Delta State University and a Master’s degree in instrumental conducting from Southern Oregon University. He resides in Ridgeland with his wife Sherry and their 7 year old son Will.
